The E3 Extravaganza: Day 1
SONY:
At the Sony convention they have unveiled all the best stuff, the PS3 and its games. Of course the most important info first is the price and date. The PS3 is going to be unleashed upon the world on November 17, 2006 and there will be two different versions. One version will be 499.00 and the second is 599.00. The one major difference between them is that the more expensive version of the PS3 has a 60GB harddrive (which is removable). The 499.00 version has a 20GB hardrive that is removable as well. There might be other things included but i do not know yet. Along with the unvieling of the PS3, the final controler was also shown. They threw out the boomerang design and have stuck with the traditional dual-shock controller but modified it. From what I have seen the controller is wireless and the is something like a gyroscope inside the controller because when you turn the controller it affects the game. If that didn't make sense think of it like this. When you are playing a racing game and you tilt the controller, it will steer the car. One of my favorite upcoming acessories for the PS3 is the eye toy. They have pulled off something that I know most of my friends will appreciate. What they did with the eye toy is flip it so its facing a table and somehow when they placed a yu-gi-oh playing card (for example) down the monster would appear on screen and it would move. This surpasses all expectations I had for the PS3.

- and many more...
A summary of these games are is that they are all eye candy.
Microsoft:
The big news is the confirmation of Halo 3. Most of the news for the Xbox 360 is with the videogames. The only two I have heard of that were unvieled at E3 were Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV which I am guessing it is an actual follow up to the third one in the Grand Theft Auto franchise. I have taken the liberty to get the footage played at E3 for you guys. Halo 3 three is the only game footage I have found today for new releases on the Xbox 360. Halo 3 game footage can be found on this link but there are other things too. (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/index.html)
Nintendo:
In case you have not heard already the Nintendo Revolution has now become the Nintendo Wii. Similar to the Xbox 360, only games were introduced for the Nintendo Wii because the probably want to show how the new innovative controller can function while playing a game. In one game you could use the controller like a sword. When you swung the remote it would swing the sword. I believe the game was called Red Steel. Another game that was shown is like a coachroach, it never goes away. The game is Super Mario Galaxy. I saw it and it was awesome. It was not graphically up to par with the PS3 but I like because it's Mario. The last game I saw was a game meant for the Gamecube but I think it's for the Wii. I am not positve though. It is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. If you want to look at game footage look at this site. (http://www.gamespot.com/wii/index.html)
Computer:
The two computer games shown today are Crysis and Spore. Both of them are bound to be topsellers. Crysis is from the creators of Far Cry and it is a first-person shooter. I have not found a video, it might be on gamespot. The graphics are amazing and they are trying to offer a non-linear experience. What I am looking foward to is just admiring its beauty. Spore is from the genius who brought the world, the entire Sim franchise. In this game you basically go through the evolution of your own species. You start out as a simple creature and develop into galaxy crossing civilization. You species can even expand to other persons' planets. I just can't wait to get my hands on the game. This conludes the news from day 1 at E3 and in my opinion I think the PS3 is in the lead. I will fill you in on more videogame information in the coming days.
